The value of XML
feeds in getting ranking in the search engines
XML, extensible markup language, is a language
that can be used to transfer information into a database. Some search
engines and directories have given a limited number of companies permission
to create listings directly into their databases and they do so using
an XML trusted feed.
Most websites, however, can be submitted to search engines and directories
without using an XML feed. But if your website is built with Flash,
or if it has a significant number of dynamic pages then a spider cannot
crawl your web pages to extract the information and you should use
an XML feed. If the information on your pages changes frequently,
for example an online retailer with changing inventory and prices,
we recommend an XML feed. We also recommend it when your website contains
500 or more pages. Waiting for a spider to find and crawl all the
pages might take a very long time.
If your website requires an XML feed we have companies we work with
that can execute the XML feed for you. |
